These were painted during a 6 month stay in New Zealand. Every day was spent painting, and it was the first time I could feel how the dedication to studying my surroundings in paint resulted in a much greater presence of life. The lighting was vivid and crisp, and the objects in our house so interesting to observe. I spent many days staring at these objects in awe of how they dominated the space.
